Meribel
Located in Savoie and in the heart of the 3 Valleys ski area, after having hosted alpine skiing and hockey events during the 1992 Alberville Winter Olympics, Méribel is preparing to host the 2023 World Alpine Skiing Championships in conjunction with Courchevel. It is one of the chic resorts of the Alps and its typical village full of charming wooden chalets makes it popular. Its 70 slopes at different levels of difficulty ensure real comfort. A family resort where everyone can find their favourite sport, unless you prefer to enjoy the fresh mountain air on a sunny terrace...

Les Deux Alpes
Built in 1930 above the town of Grenoble in Isère, it is one of the first ski resorts created in France after Chamonix. Les Deux Alpes also has many assets that make its reputation, such as the fact that it has one of the largest skiable glaciers in Europe (3600 metres) and therefore offers a skiable area that is open even in the middle of summer! Whether you are a skier or not, the panorama from the top of the glacier is an exceptional sight not to be missed. Notable for its festive evenings, it is nevertheless a family resort where everyone will find activities adapted to their age and tastes.
A wide range of campsites are available in Bourg-d'Oisans, the neighbouring village of the resort of Les Deux Alpes.
Chamonix
Call it Cham' if you want to show that you are a regular! Chamonix shares with Saint-Gervais-les-Bains the record of being the highest town in France thanks to the presence on its territory of Mont Blanc, the highest peak in the Alps, at 4,810 metres. Nestled in the heart of the Aiguilles Rouges and Mont Blanc mountain ranges, it is one of the best known ski resorts in France and a famous place for mountaineering and skiing. Even without skiing, you can enjoy a visit to the largest glacier in France, thanks to the Montenvers little red train or the Aiguille du Midi cable car, which will take you up to 3777 metres to breathe in the fresh air and admire an exceptional panorama.
The town of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc offers a wide choice of accommodation with 10 campsites ranging from two to four stars.
Val d'Isère
It is without doubt one of the best French ski resorts. Located in Savoie in the Vanoise Massif and Haute-Tarentaise, its reputation makes it one of the world's ski capitals and a stage for the ski world cup. With its 300 km of slopes, it is a very comfortable and cosy resort. Its village is charming and modern at the same time. There are hotels, luxury shops and the famous Folie Douce nightclub. This makes it a very festive resort but also very suitable for families with slopes for all levels. Val d'Isère also has a glacier where you can ski in summer!

Tignes
Famous for its ski area joined to that of Val d'Isère by slopes and cable cars to form one of the largest ski areas in Haute-Savoie called the Espace Killy, Tignes is situated at the foot of one of the highest mountains in France, the Grande Motte. Its altitude gives it a particularly favourable situation as the slopes go up to 3000 metres, which gives the possibility of practising summer skiing but also of glacier trekking in the heart of the Vannoise National Park to explore a rich and beautiful nature. Tignes is also a place of great views with the spectacular Aiguille Percée.

Les Arcs
Located in the commune of Bourg-Saint-Maurice in Savoie, the village resorts of Les Arcs are in fact three small resorts built since the 1960s at different altitudes, the last of which, Arc 2000, was opened in 2003. Linked to Paradiski with the resort of La Plagne, they form one of the largest ski areas in France with more than 425 km of pistes. Off-piste enthusiasts will appreciate the large areas dedicated to this discipline. Many other activities are available in Les Arcs, such as sledging, which is particularly popular with children, and hiking, which offers magnificent views of the snow-covered Mont Blanc. The Aiguille Rouge cable car which will take you to a footbridge at 3200 metres high for thrills and a sublime view!

Val Thorens
Relatively recent, Val Thorens is a ski resort located in Savoie, in the Vannoise alpine massif. Belonging to the 3 Valleys ski area, it has a lot to impress... First of all by its altitude as it is the highest resort in Europe (2 300 metres at the bottom of the resort) and therefore of course for the good quality of its snow, then its 600 km of slopes, nothing less! Apart from skiing, Val Thorens has a number of unusual activities such as this huge zip line to enjoy the superb mountain scenery in a different way, or driving sports cars on the ice, mountain biking on the snow but also a centre with a spa for your well-being, as well as the longest toboggan run in the world, a course of 6 km and lasting 45 minutes. Thrills guaranteed!

Alpe d'Huez
Near Grenoble in the Isère valley, the resort of Alpe d'Huez is part of the Grandes Rousses massif. Offering around 300 days of sunshine a year, it is known as the sunniest resort in the Alps. Famous among experienced skiers for its black run of the Sarenne, it offers a total of 133 runs suitable for all levels of skiing. One of the largest ski areas also knows how to diversify as it offers a life-size laser game in a labyrinth under the snow. Finally, you must go and admire the view of Mont Blanc and the Ecrins natural park, in good weather the show is particularly magnificent.
Several campsites are available in the commune of Bourg d'Oisans near the ski resort.
Grand Tourmalet
To finish this overview, it was impossible to forget the Pyrenees. The Grand Tourmalet is the grouping of two villages, Barèges and La Mongie. In the Hautes-Pyrénées on the border with Spain, this resort has nothing to envy to the Alpine mountains. It offers 100 km of slopes situated between 1400 and 2500 metres of altitude, modern and comfortable infrastructures and diversified activities: surfing, cross-country skiing and other snowshoeing excursions but also dog sledding and even horse riding... In short, certainly one of the best resorts in the Pyrenees.
