Accessories not to forget when you go camping!

Whether you're staying in a tent, caravan, motorhome or a beautiful mobile home, there are some things that you need to have, and if you don't, you'll be lonely. Others will make your life easier or add a little extra to your stay.

The mandatory ones

Extension cord: once installed on your pitch, it will connect the bollard to the tent, caravan or campsite to supply it with electricity. The best solution is to use a reel to prevent the wire from running out.

European plug: Without it, your extension cord will be useless. This special plug will allow you to connect it to your caravan or motorhome

Can opener: You've done your shopping, stocked up on good food and you're dining on... sandwiches because you forgot this little accessory. Don't laugh! This has happened to some very good people. There have been countless arguments and injuries (from trying to open the box with a screwdriver or a stone) caused by forgetting it.

Corkscrew: Same reason, same punishment! Having a good bottle and drinking water because...

Levelling wedges: Even if the pitches are... generally flat, certain differences in level can cause small problems, particularly for water drainage.

Hoses and nozzles for filling up with water: You are a beginner camper. Not all service stations have filling hoses, or the one they do have has already been through a lot.

Armoured tape: it is used for everything, repairing a pipe, a hose (some even have the ability to vulcanise with the heat of the engine), etc.

External batteries: especially if you are in a tent, without the possibility of connecting to the mains, external batteries... charged of course, will allow you to recharge mobiles, tablets, etc.

The practices

The multi-purpose pliers : To Mac Gyver, humanity is grateful. This little tool can do everything with a pair of pliers, a saw, a knife blade, a screwdriver, a can opener, a bottle opener, a corkscrew, etc.

The barbecue: It's the friend of the holidays, whether it's a classic charcoal, electric or gas barbecue. Before taking it with you, ask the campsite for information. Some campsites prohibit charcoal barbecues because of the risk of fire or electric ones because of their consumption.

The folding shovel: Campers who have seen water come in from a storm know the use of this, digging a small gutter around the tent to stay dry.

Folding sieve: Very practical for those who have decided... to go light. It can be stored flat and takes up much less space than a conventional colander.

Folding salad bowl: same principle and same use. They are usually made of silicone and fold when pressed.

Stand-alone LED reading light: It recharges like a mobile phone, has a battery life of several dozen hours and allows you to read late without disturbing others with a very good quality light.

Radio: A small battery-operated or rechargeable radio (with the little crank), which takes up no space and keeps you in touch with the world.

The techniques

Bluetooth speaker: This is the ultimate fashionable accessory that allows you to listen to music wherever you are. Simply pair it with your MP3 player or smartphone.

The portable espresso machine: you pour ground coffee or a pod on one side and hot water on the other. Then, manually or electrically, depending on the model, you press the water to obtain an excellent espresso.

Solar chargers: they come in all shapes and sizes (some are even inflatable). They all have the same purpose, to allow you to charge all your electronic devices when you are in autonomy or on a site without electricity.

Solar" table: As Coluche used to say... "It's new, it's just out! It's a folding camping table with four seats, a part of the table top covered with photovoltaic cells and different plugs to recharge all your devices.
