Is it possible to rent a mobile home for one night?

Campsites do not always offer mobile homes for a single night, but it is possible in some cases, depending on the season and the establishment's policies.

Booking a campsite for one night or a weekend in high season

In high season, most campsites prefer weekly stays, with a fixed arrival day and a minimum number of nights, often to optimise the occupancy of their accommodation.

However, there are a few exceptions. This is the case at Au Bois du Cé**** campsite in Vendée, which offers mobile homes and chalets with all mod cons for weekly or overnight rentals, even during the summer season.

Booking a mobile home or bungalow on a campsite for one night (or two) in low season

However, in low season, many campsites in France offer the option of renting a mobile home for one or two nights, particularly at weekends. This option can be particularly advantageous for family holidays, and even more economical than a night in a hotel. For example, the campsite Côté Plage*** in Saint-Jean-de-Monts, in the Vendée region, offers this type of accommodation by the night, with access to a wide range of on-site facilities, including a swimming pool, playgrounds and kids' clubs.

These campsites, whether located by the sea, on the French Riviera or the Atlantic coast, or in the countryside, are ideal for a short break or an impromptu getaway.

Things to check when booking a campsite for one night

Before booking a mobile home for one night, make sure you check the rental conditions: some campsites only accept one-night stays in low season and sometimes impose a minimum number of nights in high season. Also check whether your arrival day can be during the week, if that's what you want.

Don't forget to check for any additional costs: are linen (sheets, towels) and end-of-stay cleaning included, or charged as an extra? Some campsites include these in their short stay packages, but you should check.

Also check if there are any tourist taxes and what facilities are available (microwave, air conditioning, TV, etc.) to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Are you planning a weekend camping trip with family or friends? Here are some ideas of how much to budget for a night at a campsite if you are renting a mobile home, bungalow or chalet:

The rates for one night in a mobile home with one or more bedrooms vary depending on the season, the standard of accommodation and the services included. In low season, prices are much more affordable, with deals starting at around £20 per night at some campsites. Find out more about the average prices for a campsite in 2025.

Prices can vary significantly depending on the location, level of comfort, facilities offered (such as a swimming pool, kids' club or the option to hire bed linen) and holiday periods.

What if I choose a camping pitch by the sea or in the countryside?

For those travelling with a tent, van or caravan, a night on a basic campsite with electricity costs an average of £27.10 in high season for two adults.

In low season, this price can drop significantly, especially on simpler sites.

You should also allow for an additional £5 to £6 per extra person, depending on the campsite and the services offered.
