Campsites around the Settons lake?
Several campsites of all categories will welcome you for your camping holidays at the Lac des Settons, most of them are located in the commune of Montsauche-les-Settons, to the north of the lake. Thus you will discover the Plage du Midi *** campsite located at 50 meters from the lake, you can go there on foot. But also the campsite Les Mésanges *** located in the forest and 200 meters from the lake, it has 100 pitches and some rentals.
What leisure activities are available on the lake?
For a romantic or family outing, you can rent a pedal boat on the lake. There are 30-minute or one-hour rides available. Some of the pedal boats even have a slide to slide in the water, an accessory that is very popular with the little ones.
For the more sporty activities, there is a water jump for those who are not afraid of being propelled into the air. Sensations guaranteed!
For a softer effect and if you want to learn more about the Morvan Regional Nature Park, a boat tour is available, lasting about 45 minutes. This is also a different way of discovering the lake.
There are several beaches along the lake, one of which is supervised, the Plage du Midi, which allows you to make the most of your holiday without stress. Far from the hustle and bustle of the seaside, Lac des Settons is a particularly pleasant place, surrounded by forests, where you can relax in the sun or in the shade of the tall trees. Moreover, the lake has the Blue Flag label, a guarantee of the quality of the bathing water but also of the environment and waste.
If you are looking for an unusual activity, La Pagode proposes to embark for two hours in a canoe accompanied by a basket filled with local products, you will find the spot you like to enjoy your picnic. An original way to discover the lake in a different way.
and around the lake?
A holiday at the Lac des Settons also includes activities to discover the fauna and flora, such as hiking, which is renowned throughout the Morvan and in particular around the Lac des Settons, where a beautiful 15-kilometre hike awaits you, the Tour du Lac, with its wooden bridges floating over the water. There is also another shorter walk, only 6 kilometres long. A fun hike that children enjoy thanks to the "e-rando". For a longer walk, the GR13 (Chemin de Compostelle) also passes along the lake.
There are several quiet spots here that are attractive for fishing, but the best is undoubtedly the tip of the lake where you can catch pike, pike-perch and other perch with great pleasure. A particularly quiet place where the magnificent landscape makes you want to stroll along the water's edge to admire the sunset.
Finally, the Settons lake can also be discovered by bike or mountain bike. If you don't have your own equipment, you won't have any trouble finding rental shops. Two different routes are proposed, the Grande Traversée du Massif Central for mountain bikers, or the Tour du Morvan for a more leisurely and easier bike ride with children. Another way to discover the thousand and one facets of the Settons lake.
