Camping in Haute-Marne

Fun for children and ideal for parents, camping is the perfect accommodation for your holiday in Haute-Marne. Here you will enjoy a stay in the middle of nature with quality campsites in the middle of the forest or by the lakes. The must-see cities

Classified as a "city of art and history", Langres is surrounded by ramparts and majestic towers. It is necessary to stroll through the narrow streets to discover the covered passages which will amuse the children. Finally, the town offers a splendid view of the Marne valley, the Vosges and the Langres plateau.

Famous thanks to General de Gaulle who bought a second home there in 1934, Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises has remained a Mecca for Gaullism ever since. La Boisserie is a very beautiful residence and is now open to the public. It is here that you can also discover the imposing Cross of Lorraine which rises to a height of almost 400 metres.

Located on the Langres plateau, Chaumont is the prefecture of the Haute-Marne. The viaduct, built in 1856, is one of the most important ashlar viaducts in Western Europe. From the first floor, you can see a magnificent landscape.

Saint-Dizier is located in the north of the Haute-Marne, and is also the most populous town in the department. The birthplace of Miko ice cream, a multiplex cinema now replaces the old factory but has kept its original retro tower. From Saint-Dizier you can go for long bike rides.

A good bowl Der

Both a bird sanctuary and a water sports area, Lac du Der is the largest artificial lake in mainland France and one of the largest in Europe with its surface area of 48 m2. Designed in 1974 to regulate the waters of the Marne, which fed the Seine, it is now essential for preventing flooding in Paris. It is the ideal place for nature lovers and those looking for wide open spaces about twenty kilometres from Saint-Dizier. Depending on the season, it will offer you different and magical landscapes. You can enjoy the pleasures of water sports here from spring onwards, and in the summer you will benefit from bathing water at 27° as well as six equipped beaches. But the Lac du Der is not only about water, as you can also cycle around it. 38 kilometres that can be combined with a swim and a picnic on the beach, as well as stops to admire the sublime landscape that this place offers you.
