Discover Concarneau during your camping holiday

Labelled "Ville et Pays d'art et d'histoire" (Town and Country of Art and History), Concarneau has preserved some old houses combining timber-framed walls and granite gables. Its development is linked to the peak of tuna and sardine fishing, which generated up to thirty canning factories. Trawlers still perpetuate this tradition, bringing back fresh fish and shellfish every day. To be enjoyed in the restaurants near the quays and the Place Saint-Guénolé, decorated with the picturesque crocodile fountain.

A charming coastline of sandy beaches and hiking trails

Large sandy beaches or more intimate coves decorate the rocky ledge of this seaside resort, appreciated by generations of holidaymakers. From the pontoons, not far from the fish market and the Walled City, you can also sail to the Glénan archipelago or the wild tip of Beg Meil, near Fouesnant. There is also a wide range of water sports and quiet walks and bike rides in the immediate vicinity. If you like hiking, discover the Sentier des Douaniers (GR 34) with its views of secluded coves and impressive cliffs, the Sentier de la Pointe du Cabellou or the Sentier des Plomarc'h at Trégunc, which takes you past quiet beaches and picturesque viewpoints.

In the heart of the oldest scientific marine station in the world, the Marinarium finally allows you to understand the treasures and challenges of the seabed, with films, aquariums, a touch pool and a fun and interactive trail.

In the middle of the harbours, this astonishing little fortified town is accessible by a drawbridge or a small electric ferry.
