Discover the birthplace of Saint Vincent de Paul during your camping holiday

The illustrious Saint Vincent de Paul was born in 1581 on a farm in the Landes region, near the village of Pouy, which now bears his name. Saint Vincent de Paul devoted his life to the most destitute, welcoming, caring for and educating them, to give them faith and hope in God.

There is an eight hundred year old oak tree under which Saint Vincent used to guard the sheep. The chapel preserves some of his relics. A museum recalls his existence and delivers his message. The Cradle, located in the commune of St Vincent de Paul in the Landes, is home to numerous religious communities, a hospice, an orphanage, and welcomes pilgrims who come to pay homage to the Saint.
