Visit the Gouffre de Proumeyssac during your camping holiday

Already famous in the 18th century for its terrifying legends, the Gouffre de Proumeyssac was not explored until 1907. Fifty metres deep, it is also called the "crystal cathedral" because its walls are decorated with a multitude of crystals that shine in the light. The underground vault is accessed through a tunnel and the reliefs of the cavern are highlighted by lighting which draws the eye to the most impressive geological formations: stalactites, stalagmites, eccentric or pearl formations, one never tires of scrutinising the smallest folds of the petrified rock.

In 2022, the Grouffre de Proumeyssac will be transformed into a Cathedral of Lights, thanks to sound and light shows highlighting the multiple concretions of the Gouffre.
