Visit Daoulas Abbey during your camping holiday
Its first walls were destroyed during the Viking invasions. Today, Daoulas Abbey is known for its gardens, where medicinal plants are grown, and for its exhibitions. The garden is inspired by the traditional cultivation of the monks in the Middle Ages. Medicinal and aromatic plants, condiments and incredible magical plants are on display to learn the secrets of the druids. However, the buildings that make up the abbey are an important testimony to Breton art since the 10th century. The church and the old abbey have been classified as historic monuments since 1886, while the porch of the abbey church was only classified in 2004. Today the cloister, the chapel, the fountain, the wash house, the sheepfold, the 17th century house and the medicinal plant garden make up the whole of the visit.
