Located in Normandy, in the department of Calvados, come and discover the Basilica of Saint Theresa of Lisieux.

Visit Sainte Thérèse de Lisieux during your camping holiday

Built between 1929 and 1954, the basilica was erected in honour of Saint Theresa, shortly after her canonisation. However, its construction was almost not carried out, the local clergy being opposed to it, in particular because of the already large number of religious buildings in the city. Despite this, it is now the most important place of pilgrimage in France after Lourdes. Here, the atmosphere of contemplation is chilling. Its neo-Byzantine style is inspired by the Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Montmartre, Paris. The building is bright with contemporary stained glass windows and tells the story of the saint, who preached mercy and the love of God. The basilica can accommodate 3000 pilgrims within its white walls. Finally, it was recently listed as a historical monument and now bears the label "Heritage of the 20th century".
