What to see in France

Champrepus Zoological Park

An interesting idea for a family outing during your camping holidays in the Manche region of Normandy.

Visit the zoo of Champrepus during your camping holiday

The Champrepus Zoological Park is a unique combination of many exotic and European animal and plant species. Lucien Lebreton, the founder of the park and a farmer, first created an aviary on the side of the road, then a refuge and care centre for animals and finally the zoological park in 1957. Taken over by his grandchildren in 1977, it has grown considerably over the years. The Champrepus zoo currently has four different themes: the tropical area, the "Nono the penguin" area, the mini-farm area and finally the Asian area, which has been home to the "gibbon island" since 2013. On a two-kilometre long path, the scents and colours are a delight for the senses. Birds, mammals and reptiles feel good in this park, so do we! The zoo now welcomes more than 100,000 visitors each year and joined the Normandy Parks and Gardens Club more than 10 years ago.
