The largest balloon gathering in the world will bring together 40 pilots who will compete for the title of French Champion 2022. For five days, the best balloon pilots will confront each other in the Vosges sky and demonstrate the extent of their talent in balloon piloting. During each flight, several tests will give them points, the different exercises aim to test the pilots' know-how: precision, knowledge of the wind, ability to anticipate... At the end of the week, the pilot who has obtained the most points will be the winner of the competition. From Saturday 20 August, training flights will start before the championship begins. Enthusiasts and amateurs will then be able to follow this veritable aerial ballet of 60 balloons and those who wish to do so will be able to enjoy the competition from the sky, with "leisure" flights in a "fiesta balloon" offered. A unique opportunity to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Southern Vosges. A moment of suspension and grace, where each flight has its share of surprises. Breathtaking piloting demonstrations by ballooning virtuosos will take place in the morning at dawn and at the end of the day, a few hours before sunset.
This event will complement the festivities organised for the centenary of the Territoire de Belfort, where numerous cultural events will be offered until 31 December 2022. An opportunity to discover or rediscover the unique history of this department.
