Campsites around Menton
There are no campsites in Menton, but there are five campsites around the town of Menton. Like the Mas Fleuri ** campsite in Sospel, located 20 km from Menton, or the La Ferme Riola *** campsite in Contes, 40 km away. But we particularly recommend the Green Park campsite **** in Cagnes sur Mer, 45 km from Menton, in a hilly park and 5 km from the sea.
Party programme
For its 90th edition, the Lemon Festival will take place from 17 February to 2 March 2024. Mark your calendars! As every year, a new theme has been chosen - the Olympic Games, of course! With "The Olympics from Antiquity to the Present Day". So don't forget your trainers, your numbers and your Olympic form! Once again this year, the corsos and the entertainment will draw the spectators into a party in the colours of the Côte d'Azur.
Away from the hustle and bustle of Carnival, the Orchid Festival is also held under the dome of the Palace. This flower, with its thousand varieties, colours and fragrances, is an invitation to travel.
You will have to leave the Palais de l'Europe and head for the Biovès Gardens to admire these astonishing ephemeral sculptures, some of which require up to 15 tonnes of citrus fruit and thousands of hours to create. The Biovès gardens, the original site of the Lemon Festival since 1936, are decked out in dazzling colours during this period, a real highlight. Between 7pm and 11pm, the gardens are open to the public for a moonlit walk, which becomes magical under the artistic lighting. It would be a real shame to miss out. For your information, admission is also free here.
It's time to celebrate with the nightly corsos. The corsos are the illuminated and decorated floats that parade along the Promenade du Soleil. A grandiose street show where the festive atmosphere reigns on these evenings in the city of Menton. The floats move to the rhythm of folk bands, dancers and a particularly enthusiastic crowd. To make sure you don't miss them, you should know that there are two dates for the night corsos. They are, however, part of the paying events.
The party continues here on Sunday and seems to go on and on! This time it's the Golden Fruit Corsos, where the citrus floats parade through the town with music, under a never-ending shower of confetti in an azure blue sky and ending on the beach. The golden fruit corsos parade with great fanfare three Sundays in a row. So there's no excuse to miss out on any of the entertainment at this colourful, high-quality carnival with its undeniable Brazilian flavour.
